The Next Big Thing

Make Your Own: Clinging Cross

Every 4 to 6 weeks we have Arts & Crafts Worship: a time for fellowship and creativity. We made khatchkhars, Armenian crosses, in January. Now it's time to make our own Clinging Crosses. Using polymer clay, we'll each shape and decorate our own hand-fitted cross!

Join us on April 14th at 6:30 for dinner and Arts & Crafts.

Making the Wesley House Your Home

The students are the focus of life at the Wesley House.

There are three dorm-style bedrooms upstairs at the Wesley House available for students at the university. Each room can accommodate 1 or 2 students, and room rental rates are per room. So, if two friends want to share a room, their rent is that much cheaper!

There is a single, shared bathroom upstairs for the residents. (A separate half-bath in the kitchen area downstairs is available for visitors and non-residents.) Other shared areas include a large kitchen fully stocked with dishes and utensils for cooking as well as eating/serving meals, a laundry area with washer & dryer, a living room with a large screen TV and DVD/VCR (basic cable provided), a basic desktop computer with internet, a dining/study area with Wesley's "Big Table," off-street parking space for 4 to 5 cars, and lots of lawn and garden space.

Utilities are paid by the Foundation as is basic cable TV and internet.

The residents share in cleaning and maintaining both the house and the grounds as part of their rental agreement. A sense of community is also promoted through regular "house" meals, spontaneous celebrations, and scheduled Wesley House activities. Student-residents work with the resident manager to choose ways to foster an environment that is both comfortable and welcoming.

Resident Rooms

Rooms 1 & 2 are the larger resident rooms in the Wesley House; they can easily accommodate two roommates or provide lots of room for a single resident. With large windows, they are bright and airy. These Rooms are available as furnished or unfurnished units. We have basic single beds, dressers, and desks for these rooms available at no cost to residents. However, students are very welcome to bring their own furniture to make this feel more like home.

Room 3 is the most traditional "dorm" style room in the Wesley House. There are two single beds built-in to the room. Each bed has drawer space underneath and wardrobe and cabinet space built in by the foot of the bed. There is also a large desk/workspace built in between the two wardrobes. Room 3 can be most easily shared between roommates, but it is also the smallest bedroom; so we have typically placed just one student in this room. Two friends on a budget, though, could really find a bargain by sharing this room at the Wesley House, with plenty of space throughout the rest of the House.
